Agape Love “Christ-Must” Subscription Box Review

I absolutely love the idea of a marriage subscription box that incorporates Christ. I think the concept is great and I have faith that Agape Love will continue to grow and impact a lot of marriages.
Based off of the Agape Love website, their boxes are based on AGAPE:
A. Aligning your marriage with Christ – Biblical Material
G: Growing together – Main Item
A: Affection – “Spice it up” Item
P: Personal – Stationary Item
E: Enjoy – “Extra lil’ Something” Item
The packaging was great. It was shipped from California on 12/15/17 and I received it in West Virginia three days later on 12/18/17. There was an Agape Love label on the box so it was easily identifiable. My husband and I were eager to open up the box to see what awaited us.
Upon opening the box, everything was packaged nicely in white tissue paper with a “thank you for your purchase” sticker. There was also a paper on the outside of the tissue paper stated what was in the box with a description beside each item so that the couple knew the purpose of each item. The opening of the box had sort of like an index card that had velcro on it so that it could easily be taken off (I thought this was a nice touch). The card that was velcroed read as follows:
“Merry Christ-Must, lovely couple! Christmas is a time of giving and receiving; It’s also a time to reflect on what role Christ must play in your lives.  As a Christian couple (I am not sure that this belonged here…it should read “as a Christian married couple”…perhaps there was an extra “couple” in there) married couple, you both should make it a must to keep Christ in the Center of your marriage; That’s a gift that keeps on giving! Go over the following questions (I think it should be plural since it’s more than one question) together, write down each others answers, and pray for the things you’ve wrote (written) down. God bless.
4(1.) What is one thing going on in your life that you MUST surrender to Christ?
5(2.) This holiday season, what can you give to someone else? (no money involved)
6(3.) What are two things you MUST do to keep Christ the center focus of your marriage? (There’s no right or wrong answer, what are YOU willing to do?) (I think the numbering was off?)
Reflect On Scripture:
“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer who live, but Christ lives in me.  So I live in this early body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”. Galatians 2:20.

Items inside the box:
Handmade Wood Art – Create a memory together as you hang it, remember the investment you made in your marriage.
While I think this was a great concept, I think Agape Love could have done away with the handmade wood art. I understand the effort that was put into each piece, but it was not needed. Perhaps provide a piece of wood and encourage the couple to create something that personally identifies with them to create a better memory for the investment made in their marriage.
Candle – Enjoy a nice cozy evening. Lite (Light) this candle and talk about life together.
The candle was a nice touch. I am not sure if this was intended or not, but my candle had a “mainstays” label also attached to it. I think it was by mistake and the label should have been removed. Also, on the bottom of the candle, it says “mainstays”. I am thinking perhaps you should remove the bottom label as well so that no one can identify where the label came from. Overall, I enjoyed this addition in the box. I think it encourages conversation between the couples…sort of like aromatherapy.
Mistletoe – Share a passionate holiday kiss and thank the Lord for another day spent together.
This was a great addition in the love box, especially during the holidays. I have no complaints about the mistletoe.
“Fruits of the Spirit” Devotion – It’s a devotion! there are two different ones included, dive in and deepen your spiritual walk.
I enjoyed the two devotions that were included in my box. We haven’t really been able to dig into the devotions, but we did skim through the pages and they were great. Any type of devotional adds value to a marriage so I think it’s wonderful that it was added to this love box. Two pens were also included in the box.
“Spice It Up” (foot cream) – Give each other a foot massage, move up to the legs…you never know where it may lead lol
I loved the concept of including foot cream in the love box. We were not able to use the foot cream as of yet because with having two small kids, we hardly  ever get alone time. However, it is something we plan on doing in the future. Is there a way to get an Agape Love label on the foot cream?
Scripture Card – Reflect on the meaning of the double sided scripture card. Try to gain understanding of what God might be saying to you. Memorize it.
I loved this addition in the love box. I feel like it is something that can be easily done, especially for couples who are always on the go. This was one of my favorite additions in the box. Something simple, but has a lot of meaning. It encourages couples to memorize something that is in the Bible.
I understand the time and energy that is put into each box and I think the concept is wonderful. I am not sure that it is worth $29.95 right now, but I only received one box so I am not sure what other boxes have to offer. Do the products included in the Christ-Must box value more than $29.95? I don’t think so, but I could be wrong. I would rate the Agape Love “Christ-Must” Love Box a 2.5 out of 5 stars. The wood art was my least favorite part of the box and I am not sure that it is included in all monthly boxes. I loved the scripture card, foot cream, and devotional books. I feel like those are things that could really add value to marriages.
I will continue to follow their journey and watch their growth. Although I only gave a 2.5 out of 5 stars, I do have faith that Agape Love will grow and become even better. May God bless them and their company! I didn’t want to leave this review on my blog as to taint Agape Love’s image because I KNOW there is room for growth.
I reached out to them advising them of my review and they were very welcoming with my feedback. They indicated that in order for them to grow, they are open to constructive criticism. They indicated that they will send me a few more months of their subscription boxes so that I can get a feel for what it’s like to have a subscription with them. Perhaps with their permission, I will do a giveaway! I also have a coupon code that I will be sharing in my instastories for a lucky couple to receive a discount on one of their future subscription boxes.
Be sure to check out Agape Love and follow their journey. They are well on their way.
“And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” (Col 3:23).
*I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a free subscription box for review purposes. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.*
Back to Raising. XOXO.
