Dear Hendrix

Dear Hendrix,

Today is your second birthday. Words cannot begin to explain the love that I have for you, my sweet boy. God knew exactly what he was doing when He blessed us with you. I thank God every day for this huge blessing because Lord only knows where I would be without you. Right now, I am going through it because as I go through all of your pictures and videos from birth until now, I am just so emotional. I have been crying off and on the past couple of days just thinking about how much you’ve grown.

This past year has been nothing short of amazing. You’re starting to develop your own little personality and it just melts my heart. You are definitely one of a kind. Your laugh is contagious. I love the way you love. I am just as obsessed with you now as I was when you were first born. I admire everything about you. I love how you’re so determined and you don’t allow anything to get in your way even at such a young age. You don’t know it, but you inspire me to work harder and be the best mommy that I can be!

Here is my message to you, sweet boy, on your second birthday: you’re the coolest two year old that I know. Your creative spirit captivates each room that you’re in. Always make sure to go after your dreams and give 100% no matter what. God knew who you were before you were born and I know deep down in my heart that you are destined for greatness (Jeremiah 1:5). When I was pregnant with you, I kept hearing, “you’re pregnant with purpose and you’re going to birth something that is going to change the world”. You, my sweet boy, are full of purpose and I cannot wait to see the man that you become.

I know you won’t remember this time of your life, but I will always¬† cherish these moments because I know that one day, I will have to allow you to venture into the world and experience life for yourself. Until then, your daddy and I will be here, holding your hand along the way.

I will always be your biggest supporter and #1 fan. Today is your day.

Love, Mommy.

Back to Raising. XOXO.
